Coil-Spring Suspension Lift
A suspension lift typically replaces the factory springs and may include upgraded shocks and geometry-correction components.
Advantages may include:
Improved suspension travel
Better load handling
More control off-road
Greater compatibility with larger tires
A more complete suspension upgrade
Potential disadvantages include:
Higher cost
More complex installation
More supporting parts
Possible changes in ride firmness
Greater need for proper alignment and adjustment
The quality of the engineering matters more than the number of components in the box.
A kit containing twenty-seven brightly painted pieces is not automatically better than a carefully designed system containing ten.
Shocks Matter More Than Most Beginners Expect

Suspension Geometry: The Part Nobody Posts About
Lifting a Jeep changes the angles and positions of suspension components.
This can affect how the Jeep steers, tracks, handles bumps, and returns to center after turning.

Caster helps the steering feel stable and return toward center.
Improper caster may cause:

A two-inch lift can be perfect.
A four-inch lift can be perfect.
Keeping the Jeep at factory height can also be perfect.

Long-term build plan
Listen when knowledgeable people warn you about safety, geometry, clearance, or component compatibility.
Ignore anyone whose entire argument is that your Jeep does not look enough like theirs.
There is a difference between experience and ego.
Experience says, “That setup may cause binding at full droop.”
Ego says, “Real Jeep owners run 37s.”
One is useful.
The other is just a personality problem with wheels.
